The following virtual classes are free and open to the public:

Virtual Diabetes Prevention Program

In partnership with the University of Vermont Medical Center, Porter Medical Center will be hosting a free virtual Diabetes Prevention Program. This program has been proven to cut the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by more than half through assisting individuals in making small lifestyle changes. In this program, participants will learn to create plans for action and change, make healthier eating choices, incorporate more physical activity into busy schedules, reduce stress and stay motivated.

Beginning Thursday, September 22nd, 2022 I 12:00 – 1:00 pm

Virtual Chronic Pain Self-Management Program

In partnership with North Star Health, Porter Medical Center will be hosting a free virtual Chronic Pain Self-Management Program. This program is for individuals living with long-term (or “chronic”) pain. Participants will learn how to make healthier eating choices, increase levels of physical activity with respect to the chronic pain they are dealing with, manage medications more safely, manage stress and work through emotional challenges that come with living with chronic pain.
