  • November 17   Nearly $300,000 in new contributions and pledges for the North Project capital campaign have been received by Porter Hospital since early September, as the hospital continues its final push to raise $5 million for the project.  Total contributions now stand just shy of $4.5 million according to PMC President, James L. Daily, who has been very encouraged by the ongoing and very generous community support of Porter. Continued...

  • October 5, 2006 Porter Hospital will unveil and dedicate its new Birthing Center and Surgical Care Center at a ceremony on Friday, November 10th at 3:00 p.m.   The event is free and open to the public, and will be held in an area adjacent to the new "North Wing", on the north side of the hospital campus.The ceremony will include brief remarks and acknowledgements by hospital board chairman, Joe Sutton, Medical Staff President Dr. Allan Curtiss Porter Medical Center President James L.   • May 3, 2006 The most important and ambitious modernization project in the history of Porter Hospital is well-underway with a target of opening the new North Wing by November of this year.  The new 29,000 square foot addition will contain Addison County's first Birthing Center and a completely modernized Surgical Department with state-of-the-art equipment and adequate facilities to provide the highest quality medical care services to our community.   • December 29, 2005 A contribution of $5,000 from the Bristol American Legion to Porter Medical Center was presented to PMC President, James L. Daily, on December 28th. The donation brings to $10,000 the total support from the Bristol Legion for the hospital's ongoing capital campaign for the "North Project" modernization. "We are deeply grateful to the Bristol American Legion for this renewed and generous support of the most important and ambitious project in the 80-year history of our organization", Daily said.   • February 5, 2005 Porter Hospital presented its plans for our long-anticipated "North Project" to members of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) on Wednesday, February 2nd at the Middlebury Inn. The meeting was well-attended by members of our community, including Porter board members, physicians and hospital staff. After a 60 minute power point presentation by Pat Jannene outlining the key points in our "Certificate of Need" application for the North Project, PMC board chairman Stephen C. Terry provided the POC with his views from the perspective of our trustees. He amplified many of the points made during the presentation regarding the absolute need to modernize 30 year-old facilities that are central to the provision of basic community hospital services (maternity and surgery) Continued....
     
  • January 31, 2002 The 75th Anniversary Campaign for Porter Hospital has surpassed the $4 million mark  with $4,016,480 in commitments as of the end of January.  The campaign was launched in June of 2000 with a pledge of $250,000 from the PMC Auxiliary. During the past 18 months, more than 700 individual community members, service organizations and businesses pledged an additional $2,758,480 to the campaign.  The final $1 million was pledged by Middlebury College in January of last year.
